How Back Bar Skincare Came To Be

The name Back Bar comes from what estheticians call the space where we choose the products for each facial—not a one-size-fits-all routine, but the right products for the right skin, at the right time. That’s exactly what I want for my clients: to walk into their bathroom, look at their skincare, and know exactly what to use and how to use it.

Skincare has never been just about products for me—it’s about understanding what actually works. When I was in massage school in Montana, I started using essential oils in treatments, and something clicked. What we put on our skin goes into our bodies. That moment changed the way I looked at skincare.

I started paying attention to ingredients, product formulations, and why people struggle with their routines. I saw how many products go unused because people don’t know how to use them or don’t see results. That’s what led me to create Back Bar Skincare—where skincare actually makes sense.

At my studio in Spokane’s South Hill, facials are designed around what your skin needs that day—no complicated menus, no unnecessary add-ons. My custom skincare collection follows the same idea: small-batch products, made for you, with ingredients chosen for your skin.

Because when skincare is simple and effective, it becomes something you actually use—and that’s when it works.

A Few Things About Me

I have dry, dehydrated skin, so hydration is always a priority for me. My favorite product is a facial oil with rosehip oil—it’s a staple in my routine.

I always wash my face before bed, but I like to do it early—usually when I’m bathing the kids—because once I’m tired, all bets are off.

My favorite way to start the day is early, before anyone else in my house is awake, with a hot cup of coffee and a good book under a blanket on the couch.
